In recent years there has been a major push towards water conservation. We are doing its bit by increasing the life of plastics that go into water management.
We have several Colour & Additive solutions for the Water Tank and Pipe industry. These masterbatches are specifically designed for pipes, containers and tanks, including a variety of LLDPE / HDPE storage water tanks, to meet stringent outdoor exposure requirements.
In addition to the Colour & UV packages for these applications, we provide Chemical Foaming Agent Masterbatches & Anti Microbial Masterbatches as well for the water tank industry. The foaming agents help in reducing density, increase thermal and acoustic insulation while increasing relative stiffness of the original polymer. Our Antimicrobial Masterbatches prohibit the growth of harmful bacteria on the inner layer of tanks and pipes.
Because rotomoulding has almost no shear. In injection moulding or extrusion the screw does the work of breaking down and distributing pigment; in rotomoulding the powder simply melts against a rotating mould wall. A masterbatch that disperses fine under shear can leave streaks and specks in a tank. Grades for this process have to disperse without mechanical help.
Enough for the service life being sold, which for storage tanks is measured in years of continuous exposure on a roof. Colour and UV have to be considered together: black gives the most durable screen, while lighter tank colours rely on a stabiliser package plus pigment lightfastness. See carbon black and UV protection and our Additive Masterbatches range.
Yes. Antimicrobial masterbatch inhibits bacterial growth on the inner surface of tanks and pipes, which matters for stored potable water where biofilm can develop on the wall over time. It is supplied as part of our Additive Masterbatches range and is used alongside the colour and UV package rather than instead of it.
It creates a controlled cellular structure in the wall. That reduces density and material use, increases thermal and acoustic insulation, and raises relative stiffness compared with a solid wall of the same weight — useful in multi-layer tanks where an insulating middle layer keeps stored water cooler. It is part of our Additive Masterbatches range.
Black remains the most durable outdoors. Beyond that, tank colour is largely a market preference, and the constraint is lightfastness — a shade that fades unevenly on a roof looks worse than a plain one. Granite and marble effects are widely used because they disguise scuffing and surface marking; see Special Effect Masterbatches.
We supply colour and additive masterbatch for the pipe and tank industry, including potable water pipe applications listed on our building and construction page. Compliance is determined against the specific standard your customer requires, so tell us which one applies and we will confirm what we can supply against it. Our certifications are listed on the site.
In non-potable, non-critical layers it is common; in potable-contact layers it is governed by the standard you are working to. Where it is permitted, the practical issues are colour consistency and retained properties after multiple heat histories — both addressed in our Recycling Masterbatches range. See also masterbatch for recycled and PCR plastic.
Yes. Life Color Pigments & Masterbatches is a water tank masterbatch manufacturer in India, supplying colour, UV, foaming and antimicrobial masterbatch for LLDPE and HDPE tanks, pipes and containers from Vasai East, Palghar, Maharashtra. Read more about us or contact us.
Tell us the tank size, the polymer and the expected outdoor life — we will recommend a colour, UV and additive package and send a sample to trial on your own line.
